Sitting in New Breath the Ukrainian church during the worship service, I noticed something. In front of me, Pastor Alekseyi’s nineteen year old daughter was sitting next to a young man. The young man had his arm around her. So I verified with the young woman who sits next to me to translate for me and indeed my suspicion was correct that Pastor Alekseyi’s daughter has a boyfriend.

Before going to New Breath, lunch with Luis from El Salvador was a fun opportunity to practice my Spanish. Sunday morning at my church meant seeing friends and telling a few jokes and also met a mother and her teen daughter who were visting for the first time and welcomed them.
Just a few examples of how life goes on after receiving difficult news such as my colleague passing away.
This morning I will teach her part of the class we collaborated on, the Welcome Class for Newcomer Refugees. I won’t tell the students why I am there and not her. It will feel a bit surreal, but having prayed for them and the morning, Jesus will help me make the class a blessing for them.
After class, it will be doctor time to have my left elbow, shoulder- well whole left arm looked at. Life goes on.
What will your Monday bring?
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
