The movie Sandlot and the show Stranger Things remind me of my preteen and early teen years. Memories of riding bikes around the neighborhood with my friends, playing baseball, football, or basketball with my friends. Sometimes getting into a bit of exploring with my friends.

One of our favorite things in the summer was to fill our Boy Scout canteens with water and ride to a wooded area on the edge of our neighborhood. Our prize for our brief journey- Mulberry trees.
We would rinse the mulberries off with the water from our canteens and eat to our hearts content. But to our surprise each time, our parents would know we had gone to the Mullberry tress again. How? The purple fingers and lips. They saw the obvious signs.

Jesus told us in Matthew 7 that we would know whether to trust a leader by their fruit. People can spin lies, sound convincing, but we can watch for their fruit good or bad. It may not show right away, but it will show.
The same applies to us. The fruit of the Spirit that Paul lists in Galatians 5:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
The fruit of the Spirit shows Christ’s character to the world around us. The fruit of the Spirt attracts people to the message of salvation in Jesus.
It is not always easy to show kindess, patience, goodness in these days that we live in, but if we do, it can speak volumes to others.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
