Jesus has defeated death, darkness, and sin. He defeated them through his death and resurrection. Jesus has all power. Whatever we face in life, Jesus loves us, is with us, and will share his victory with us.
Ultimately we will experience that when we are in heaven with him. In this life we can trust that he is at work in our lives and trust the outcome to him.
