It was a fall afternoon years ago that I was driving to another city for my theology class when my clutch started going out. I was able to coast off the interstate ramp to a gas station. Having little money due to newly recovering from a prolonged illness, my main hope was that a friend could give me a ride home. It seemed like a big ask because I was about fifty miles from my city.

When my friend Joel answered the phone, he did not hesitate. He came and did not only give me a ride, he had a tow rope, hooked my small Toyota to his SUV and towed me back to my city. He went way beyond what I had hoped for.

Jesus calls us friend if we trust in him as our Savior. He went WAY beyond what we could have hoped for when he left heaven to born as a human baby for the purpose of one day dying for us on the cross. He also advocates for us, empowers us, and is always with us.

Dear reader, Jesus wants to be your friend and come alongside you in life.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
