It may seem a bit odd to express gratitude for coffee or perhaps a bit shallow, but for me it is not only about the drink that greets me in the morning.

Coffee for me represents connection. Many times I have enjoyed time wth friends in a coffee shop or in their homes over a cup of coffee.

It also represents experiences such as enjoying a cup of Turkish coffee in a hotel in Sinai in the mountains in Romania. Or having coffee in a cafe in Lyon France, Rio do Sul Brazil, or Constanta Romania, experiencing more of the cultures.

The ultimate for me are the divine appointments Jesus has blessed me with in coffee shops those wonderful times of sharing Jesus with someone that I had no idea would happen before I went there.

At the risk of losing my credibilty as a coffee purist, a somewhat cousin of coffee-tea- makes the list too. Only because it represents times in the homes of friends from the Middle East and after dinner drinking tea and eating dates.

So it is not so much coffee by itself, but the experiences involving coffee that I am thankful for.

What are you thankful for today?
