February 1st today and this week will be warmer with one day actually hitting 50 farenheit at least that is the theory for now. We have had years that spring comes a bit early in late February.

I realized today that as usual, in January I end up looking a bit scruffy. Could a haircut be in my near future? But is it too early to think about spring and new life?

Spiritually speaking we are always in spring because Jesus gives new life and always brings fresh mercies each morning.

As Lamentations 3:22-23 says

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

So though it might be a bit early to walk in the park enjoying new life emerging, we can always enjoy being in the presence of Jesus receiving mercy, refreshment, and renewal.

    Brr. Today was actually not a bad day though. As I drove around town, every single car wash was packed. Couldn’t wash the car today 😞🚙

    I love this message. Even when winter hangs on, spiritually we’re always in spring because of Jesus. His Mercies truly are new every morning.

  7. Blessings Matt. Thanks for sharing these verses from Lamentations 3, one of my favorite chapters to reflect upon. People around here will be giddy with next week’s temps in the 40s.
