Another Year Around the Sun is Completed

And so it happened. I completed another trip around the sun. It is called a birthday. The older I get, the more I think of it as another year closer to being with Jesus in heaven which for me is a wonderful truth. 🙂

I shared one of my favorite birthday memories a few days ago about an attempted surprise party.

Another wonderful birthday memory for me is landing in Brazil on the morning of my birthday in 2013. Yes, I landed in Brazil for a ministry trip on my birthday. I can’t think of anything better than that for me. 🙂

The pastor picked me up at the airport in Curitiba and we drove to a small city in the mountains, Rio do Sul. We stopped by the church because he said he need to do something but actually there was cake for me. They also sang Parabens Para Voce and Happy Birthday.

Today I will have lunch with friends from Mexico at a barbecue restaurant. Maybe tomorrow I will do something with some other friends.

The older I get, the more a passage in the bible has special meaning to me for a theme. In Philippians 1 we see Paul’s attitude:

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know!  I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;  but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith”

It would be far better for me if Jesus took me home to heaven, but there are more people to reach with his love and who need to hear about him. So I think he will have me stay here for a while longer.

I have seen others share thoughts, one for each year, at their birthday, but that would make this post too long if I did that. 🙂 haha

I will share a fun top 10 things about me

10- My favorite movies are the Lord of the Rings series and the Star Wars series.

9- I was a wedding coordinator twice. There is a story behind them. 🙂 lol

8- My favorite recipe at home is to microwave food others gave me. 🙂

7- I can speak two other languages but wish I could speak a lot more.

6- The first time I grew a beard was in December 2017 and now I don’t want to shave. 🙂

5- I saw Queen Elizabeth go by in the back of her limo when I was in London England, I waved, but she didn’t wave back. 🙂

4- I only buy two colors of socks, white and black, It makes it so easy to match sock. 🙂

3- I only watch shows on Hulu and Netflix on my computer or Ipad, so even at my age, I am a Millennial.

2- Potato chips talk to me when I go to the store telling me to buy some.

1- The most important thing to me in life is to know Jesus. I think it is a fun adventure to know Jesus. 🙂
