Last night I had no choice. I had to go. I went shopping. It was an urgent trip to a store in the midst of the insanity called Christmas shopping.

With all of the courage I could muster, I got in my car and drove to the dreaded experience of shopping during the Christmas shopping season.

Where did I so boldly go you may ask?

Good question.

I went to the Best Buy store because my charger for my laptop no longer worked and I needed a new one. If I wanted to continue blogging and also do some writing during the break, I had to have a new charger. I was in the store for a whole stressful 10 minutes.

Sometimes in life our backs are against the wall and it forces us to do something like go shopping.

As I drove past one of the shopping malls on my way to Best Buy, I noticed the long line of cars to get into the shopping mall.

Something else I have noticed, and notice every year at this time, is how much fuller my home church is this time of year.

My prayer is that the people coming because it is Christmas time come to experience the transforming love of Jesus.

Yes, Jesus the one whose earthly birthday we are celebrating at this time. He left heaven to come to earth as a human baby 2000 years ago. He came with a mission which was to be our Savior by dying on the cross. Christmas has no meaning if Jesus did not die for us and defeat death for us through his resurrection.

That is how much Jesus loves us. He left heaven to be born as a baby to grow to die a torturous death on our behalf so we could be reconciled with God. That is what we are celebrating at Christmas.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
