Living with chronic illness makes starting the day difficult at times. I have mornings I sit in my chair with coffee while listening to worship music and mutter a prayer like- Lord I don’t have it today, so you will need to carry me through it.

I have never been a morning person. Afternoons and evenings are when I am the most creative. In fact, I write my blog posts at night and schedule them for the morning. The perfect life for me would be to start work around 10:30am so I can ease into the day. Even better would be to get paid to sleep late haha. That is not reality though.

Morning people have intrigued me for a long time. I can’t understand them. They are like beings from another realm of existence. When I have gone on retreats and people are all enthusiastic about early morning group devotionals, in the back of my mind I want to scream out- Can’t we sleep?

Until I have had a cup of coffee and time to wake up, I can’t put sentences together. I definitely don’t want to talk with anyone, so it is probably best I am single because if I was married, my wife would be upset every morning as I groan don’t talk please.
Tatiana is a new blogger. Her blog is graciousadventure.blog. She shared a post yesterday Good Morning. In her post she shared about things she loves in the morning. That is a completely foreign concept to me. It is a good post to read and one can easily see her faith in her writing. I encourage you to check out her blog.
So I am curious about you dear reader. Are you a morning person or are you like me a sane night owl? π
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
Good MORNING, my friend. Yes, I do my best work before 7 in the morning. But we don’t all want to be the same, so it’s okay that your eyes are not even open yet. God made you that way. Thanks for your blog and the encouragement we all receive from it.

Evening for me π
Me too π€
I used to be a morning person…I love mornings…but then the fibro came…it happens – I enjoy the ones I get!
I understand that
I am a morning person, pretty non functional once it is late evening π.
We are opposites π
Iβm definitely a morning person! βοΈ I enjoyed the βGood Morningβ post! Mornings are refreshing to me and seeing the morning sunshine brings me joy.
Thatβs ok we can still be friends π
Lol! π
NOT a morning person π I have always been more of a nightowl, but lately, I am not even that. π π
I understand little sister
π sending up a prayer for a good day for you!
thank you π
it is my pleasure to pray for you……..
me too for you
awww…….thank you so very much! It’s been a rough couple of weeks for your prayers are extra precious.
Haha… a sane night owl. I like that. As you know, I definitely don’t do mornings, but if I didnβt have Hashimoto’s Disease, I might be more of a morning person, just not a 5:00 am kind of morning person. I donβt understand these non farmer morning people. What do you need to get up for at 5:00 am in the morning? The only thing that I can think of is the sun rise. I’d like to see the sun rise, but my body would protest. βΊ
I remember a trip we took with Andrew’s parents. Dad was up really early. ON VACATION! Nothing was even open for breakfast yet. We were sharing a room, so Andrew and I were groaning. That’s my in-laws. Insane early risers. Lol. But they’re loved. βΊ
5am is insane to me π
Good. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks so. I understand it if you’re a farmer, or your job calls for you to wake up that early, but when you choose it, um…huh!? Lol.
Morning person! Definitely a lark! For me, it’s the best time of the day for Bible study, quiet time, and prayer. In the mornings, my mind is clear and refreshed.
We can still be friends haha π€
I’ll be one of your 5 AM and sometimes 4:30 AM insane friends!
π
This is particularly funny for me to read this morning. Because I AM a morning person. But this morning I could finally sympathize with people who are not. (Lol it was actually my blog post for the day) And for crying out loud, it is AWFUL!! Iβm very very sorry if this is how you feel each morning! You deserve some sort of award each day for getting up at all!
My best hours are between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. I think that makes me mainly an afternoon person. π€
Not a morning person at all! I like to ease into my day too! However, grateful that HE awakens me each day. π
Ease into the day is the best π
I had this talk with my dr because of insomnia and asking about safe medications to help. I’m a night owl and I feel like theres this negative vibe from the morning people to us night owls. I feel like they look at us as lazy and uninspired. But here’s what my doc said that helped alot!….
He said studies show night owls are more creative and inspired, while morning people are concrete thinkers. Black and white thinkers. And he said there’s nothing wrong with either side and just imagine what the world would be like if it were filled with all morning people. There would be no art, no music, no creativity. I’m now a proud night owl! Lol
Welcome to the world pf night owls π
Amen bro
Definitely a morning person. In the winter when I am walking the dog I often watch the sunrise. Early morning is my devotional and planning time, I enjoy the quiet peace.
I am glad you enjoy it.
Smiles. High five to my co night owl. π
I totally resonate with the early morning vibe of wanting to sleep more. π

I am a night owl but these days as my kids have to go to school, I have become a morning person.
Moms make so many sacrifices
Anything for kids.
It truly depends on how I slept the night before. Growing up however, definitely a night owl!
