The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
In a small way, I can relate to Abram’s experience. God came to him and told him to go to the land God would show him. In other words, get going and I will show you along the way with no advanced notice of how to plan.

In March 2000, the Lord led me to on the beginning of what would become an adventure I love.
I had been to Romania three times to teach in Conversational English Language Camps through my church. Because of those trips, I began to volunteer to help people learn English.
I often think of the quote from Bilbo Baggins in Lord of the Rings:
“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
20 years ago, I was swept off to an adventure that continues to this day. It has been a rewarding adventure for me.
20 years ago, I had no idea of the people I would meet teaching English and in ministry. The Lord has blessed me to know people from many different countries and cultures.
20 years ago, I did not know young people from different countries would call me their American dad.
20 years ago, I did not know I would go on ministry trips to Brazil and Mexico and learn Portuguese and Spanish.
I am so thankful for what Jesus has done in my life for the past 20 years. I look forward to more years of following his voice and discovering the adventures he has for me.
Following Jesus is the best adventure a person can go on.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
