The past several weeks have been ones of ups and downs. They have also included new adventures for me teaching online. It has been a blessing to reconnect with students online using Zoom.

Online services from my church have also been a blessing. My pastor has been doing a live devotional weekday mornings as well. So I have been able to stay connected to my church.

I have enjoyed Zoom chats with other bloggers, ordered food deliveries online, started tutoring someone online for preparing for college, and other fun new things.

BUT

Something was missing. I have missed my Sunday morning group. Sunday mornings have been the time that I share Jesus with friends from other countries in a bible study I lead at church. Over the years people from several countries have come to my Sunday morning bible study. For many of them it was their first introduction to Jesus.

This Sunday I will try hosting the group using Zoom. So far two have said they want to join. I am excited about this. It will be wonderful to share Jesus through a bible study again. I have really missed it the past six weeks.

Here in my state they are saying we can return to worship services in our church building at the end of May. Until then, my ministry can continue. 🙂

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

Glad you guys have that definite date already… I miss personal gathering with our church family as well. 😭

    1. Hope you can have a definite date too little sister

  2. But have you found more people engaging with what’s been said on Zoom etc than in the past physically? We are at much higher numbers and many of them haven’t been to church in the recent past (or at all). Are we at a crossroads for the traditional and digital mediums? Is there a both option?

    1. I think there can be a both option especially as churches slowly begin to meet in the buildings again. I think this experience has opened my eyes to new opportunities.

      1. How many churches could accommodate their congregations within social distancing restrictions? Here in the UK there’s no consideration for churches to be opened yet.

      2. Where I live in the Midwest US, they are talking about end of May but with guidelines of staying six feet apart. That will be difficult. My church building is large enough to accommodate that but many aren’t

  3. Hi !
I have been praying for you during this time. I know that you are a people person, and it is nice that you have been receiving lots of support from your community.
I’ve been using this time to try to learn some Greek, using Youtube resources.
I just recently learned that the New Testament was originally written in Greek.
Like you, I also enjoy languages. 🤗

    1. Thank you for praying. Greek is a fun language and the story behind Koine or Common Greek shows how God works. Alexander the great had the Greek language simplified for a common language that was spread through his empire, mostly the Mediterranean World and Mideast. 300 years later Jesus was born, ministered, trained his disciples, was crucified and resurrected. He then sent his disciples out as apostles who took the gospel to the world helped by the common language of Greek.

      1. Thanks for the explanation. I can tell that you are a teacher. Teaching is an art, a gift, and a vocation. 🤗

  4. I am thankful in being able to attend worship virtually. However, I do miss seeing and interacting with people in person.
