What Do We Want From God?

My pastor has been doing live morning devotionals Monday through Friday as a way for our church to stay connected during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have to admit that due to my schedule I had been binge watching them once a week. But this past week my mornings are free so I watch them after I wake up though not live. A boy does like his sleep after all.

This past Tuesday in the morning devotional he shared a thought that has really stuck with me. It has to do with what do we want from God. A point he made really struck me. He shared that Adam and Eve had paradise in Eden so they basically had heaven. But they did not want God.

Think about that. Do we want heaven and all of the goodies only? Or do we want relationship with God? There is a stunning difference. Desiring a relationship with God first and foremost makes so much difference in our lives.

So I want to share last Tuesday’s devotional with you. It is thought provoking.

        I’m good. She’s doing good too. She’ll be staying there over the summer instead of coming home with all that’s going on.
