Did you see it? My new look? No I am not talking about the fact that I finally got a haircut. Yes, that happened. But that is not what I am talking about. Let me give you another view.

Did you see my mask? It says- Be Kind. This will be my new look for a while as I go out in public. A friend of mine from China, who lives in my state, told me her mother wanted to make a mask for me. Her mother wanted to know what I wanted my mask to say. I replied- Be Kind.
Kindness is so needed these days. We are all living in what seems like a pressure cooker at times with the pandemic, protests, in some places riots, and more. My desire is to show the love and kindness of Jesus to those I interact with.
Yesterday I went to the organic food store I go to sometimes. I saw the young woman I met last year who has the semi-colon tattoo. The semi colon tattoo is a symbol of someone who has thought about suicide, but chose not to. A semi colon is a pause in a sentence not the end of a sentence like a period- or full stop- so the semi colon tattoo represents someone choosing to continue their life not end it.
She saw my mask and smiled. We talked for a little bit. We talked about how I noticed the semi colon tattoo. I reminded her that I care about her and that if she ever needs to talk to let me know. I also joked that I don’t like needles, so I wouldn’t be getting the tattoo. People also get the tattoo to show support. She had a Sharpee, so I agreed to let her draw one on me.

We need acts of kindness now more than ever. Kindness is a fruit of the Spirit. The more I spend time with Jesus, the more I will be able to show people his kindness. Please join me in showing kindness to others.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
