One thing I learned as a student was never give the teacher an idea. One of my Brazilian friends living in Winnipeg Canada missed a few weeks of online lessons with me. One week she was on vacation and the second week she was busy catching up with her work. She sent me a message on Facebook saying she can meet this afternoon. Then she joked with me asking if I was going to give her 2 quizzes because she missed lessons.

I actually had not thought of giving her a quiz until she sent me the message. Then I thought, “good idea.” I thought 2 quizzes would be good for her. It was her idea after all.

I was not thinking about giving her 2 quizzes until she brought it up. If you are a student, let that be a lesson for you, never volunteer anything to a teacher the teacher has not thought of. 🙂 lol

Fortunately for us, we can’t really give Jesus any ideas. He knows everything already and knows his plan for us. He is never surprised by anything and doesn’t need our help to come up with ideas.

But if we seek him and listen, he can help us come up with ideas for ministry and life. He will guide us into what he has planned for us and created us to be. Ephesian 2:10 says:

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Now I need to write the 2 quizzes for my friend from Brazil. 🙂

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. One one ☺️. That’s happened to me before where I suggest something jokingly and it ends up costing me. 😀.

    1. Lol yes never volunteer ideas to a teacher lol

  2. Good one! Do you need some ideas for torturing – I mean teaching – Lydia? Maybe she needs 2 quizzes this week? What do you say, Lydia?
Back to your post, I love the comfort in knowing that God has a plan for me (and you), and God’s plan is the BEST plan. He doesn’t need any help from us.
    Thanks for the great reminder.

    1. Here’s what I have to say – that student made a horrid mistake.😂
I’ve been through that a few times, but I still haven’t learned, because last night, I said something that triggered Matt to offer to give me more homework when that wasn’t my intention at all.
Honestly, I think him posting this was a huge “warning banner” for me. I do have a problem with saying too much to my teachers that ends up in a mess.
As far as him giving me more homework/quizzes/whatever, he’ll just have to make it super easy.

      1. Good ideas quizzes and more homework

      2. Some lessons are slowly learned.

      3. Lydia secretly loves homework but won’t admit it haha

    2. 2 quizzes for Lydia that is a great idea 💡

  3. Haha! Yes being daughter to two academics, I know this sooo well and should I say have suffered through this lol!!!!

  4. I’ll try to remember that….🤐🤐🤐😜

      1. Jesus loves you toooooooooooo

  5. Yes, very fortunate for us that we can’t give Jesus any ideas. I don’t want 2 quizes! 😮 I guess it is a comfort to know that there is already a plan in place, but I am really good at freaking out about everything anyways. He is working on me…. thankfully. ❤

  6. I like the way you slipped the Word in the middle of it, good job!

  7. That’s kinda mean….but I like it🙃

  8. Smiles. I feel sorry for the student though. 😂
An important lesson to note for future times. 📌

Yes, He knows all about it even without us saying a word. 💃

Do go easy on your student and Lydia too, big bro. 😊

    1. Lydia loves homework 📚😂

      1. Smiles. Guess she is a good student then. 😇
