Wednesday mornings this month, I am having conversation time in Zoom with moms from my Family Literacy Class. We simply talk about various things. It is an effort to rally the students before we start our class again in September.

I also got the green light to start my weekend groups at the church building. It will be great to be there again. I just need to pray about God’s timing for it. I have not been in the church building since early March before the shutdowns.

It will be nice to be back in my school building in the mornings and in my church building on the weekends. Hopefully there will not be another spike in COVID cases that cause a shutdown.

Slowly life is creeping along towards getting back to normal. Believe it or not there are a few things I will miss about working from home.

1- I don’t have to wear shoes and socks working from home.

2- I can take naps between online classes if I want to- huge bonus for someone with chronic illness. 🙂

3- Slower pace of life is relaxing.

The best part has been extra time with Jesus in prayer, reading my bible, and listening to worship music.

What are some things you have enjoyed about staying at home?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. I enjoy doing more song writing and cooking

    1. Wish you could cook for me 🤗

      1. true? I’m sorry I’m far

      2. Yes true but yes you are far away

  2. I’ve been able to “chill out” which before was unheard of.

I also got a bunch of homework that ended up being way more enjoyable/useful than what I originally thought.

    1. Homework is always fun lol

      1. I knew you would say that!🙃😊🤗

  3. I have been able to make a dent in my pile of “to be read” books.

  4. I enjoy much of the same things.
Working from home, I roll out of bed most days (unfortunately) about 10 minutes before time to log in. In that way, I don’t feel as productive as I could be in the mornings, but my commute has shortened and I’m able to use that time in the evenings, for example, to read and do other things. I do get slightly more sleep this way, too, so it’s not all bad because I don’t get enough sleep 🙃
Lately, without that commute, it’s easier to work one of my other jobs as well. I get off work and instead of having to come home and get ready, I can just slowly get ready all day and then go to my next job soon after I log off.
I’ve had SO much benefit from all this time that’s added up for me to be able to be in His word and it’s encouraging and uplifting to my spirit. If I didn’t get in the Word during a pandemic, I would probably be anxious and depressed. I’ve seen the good that’s come from this time and I’m grateful for what it means to my relationship with Him and I pray that for all of us.

    1. I am glad it has been good for you

  5. Even though we have scheduled Zoom calls or phone calls while home, the pace is so much more relaxed. I’ll miss that when we start going everywhere. But maybe I will still go fewer places for a while, so I can adjust my schedule to “slower” if I choose. Good news on your classes resuming!

  6. Being retired, my transition with being sheltered at home has been easier for me. However, being anchored at home means much less contact with people in general.

    1. The less contact is the hard part for me

  7. Unfortunately I’ve not really been home, but most of our services (except Sundays) are still down. But the time I have, I have found that I absolutely enjoyed being outdoors. We had such a warm summer, that nature walks became necessary

    1. Nature walks are relaxing 🙂

  8. Living in comfortable clothing, no need to dress up – Ahhh.

  9. Awesome …but you definitely make some good points about being home too!!

    1. I have come to enjoy some parts of being home

  10. Smiles. I believe I will miss the calm and quality time with God and time to do other activities -reading etc.
Although I miss the outdoors a lot. 😓

    1. I miss you little sister in blogger chats

      1. Aww. Me too, big bro. 😊
        I miss you all. 🤗
I pray the times change for me soonest and I am able to. 🙏

  11. I am really glad to hear your positive list about the shutdown. Free the feet! 🙂

Im happy you could get caught up on naps.

I think it will be really beneficial for your group to meet in church. I expect it will be emotionally supportive for your attendees. Good luck.
