Yesterday I was back in my classroom with students for the first time since early March. It was a LONGGGG six months.

Being in the room was a but like opening a time capsule in a way. The moms make the calendar and decorate around it every month. The calendar from March was still there. It was as if we left for spring break but it lasted six months not one week.
Some of the moms will join remotely via Zoom. I had some in the classroom with me. It felt great to be back. It will be a different adventure this year as we have a hybrid class with some students joining remotely and some in class, but it is an adventure I embrace especially considering the alternative.
My new assistant was a volunteer in my class that I recruited to be my assistant. She will be a great fit with the class.
It also felt wonderful to start my day praying for my class and for Jesus to help me show his love to my students and the staff at the school.
The mantra I taught them to say for the time being is- FOR NOW. Things are different as far as the way I have to set up the seating and the students needing to wear masks. We talked about it is only for now. We don’t know when it will change back to the way it was. When I told them no food days, I love food days, we said- FOR NOW.
So I am back in the classroom 🙂
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
