Imagine you have to walk through a park at night that is dimly lit. How do you feel about it? Perhaps afraid or worried. Now imagine walking through the same dimly lit park at night, but you are not alone. You have a couple of U.S. Marines and a couple of Navy Seals to escort you through the park. How do you feel now?

Barb of mylifeinourfathersworld.com noticed that on Sunday I wrote about a thunderstorm changing my plans and that yesterday I shared a song Praise You In The Storm and wondered if there was a theme. It was unintentional, but the comment got me to thinking about Jesus walking on the water in the midst of a storm.
His disciples were in a boat when a storm suddenly came upon them. They might have died. Jesus came walking to them in the midst of the storm on the water. His words to them were- “Don’t Be Afraid. It is I.”
Every time God told his people to be of courage, he gave them a reason- I go before you.
Jesus told his disciples many times- Don’t Be Afraid. It Is I.
God does not just tell us to not be afraid when we face life’s difficulties, challenges, and upheavals. He tells us to not be afraid because? HE IS WITH US.
The Christian faith is not an empty faith of trying to stir up positive thoughts. It is based on the one who has all power- Jesus. And Jesus has promised he will never leave us.
Have to go to that doctor’s appointment? Jesus goes with us.
Have to look for a job? Jesus goes with us.
Have to live with chronic illness? Jesus is with us.
Have to deal with family problems? Jesus is with us.
So when the storms of life hit, Jesus walks through that storm to us and says- Don’t Be Afraid. It Is I.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
