Yesterday I received an email from Barb of mylifeinourfathersworld.com that said she thought of me when she saw a picture of a T-Shirt.
I loved it. I looked it up and saw that I can get one in men’s and even a hoodie. I will order one later this month when I get paid. 🙂
The verse quoted does indeed show Jesus sleeping. The where and what was going on is what makes it much more interesting.
Jesus was in a boat with his disciples. A storm came upon them and the disciples were needless to say- Terrified. What was Jesus doing? Mark 4:38
Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
Jesus was sleeping. The alarmed disciples woke him up wondering how Jesus could be sleeping at a time like that. Jesus did something.
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
He spoke a few words and the storm died and the sea was calm. Boom- Jesus was sleeping not worried because he knew he has all power.
So when the storms of life come, remember that Jesus has all power. Look to him. We don’t know how or when he will do something, but we know he can and that he loves us.
Oh and naps are a spiritual thing. Jesus took naps. Be like Jesus 🙂
