Last night in my Life Group, we studied through John 9 in the bible. John 9 is about the time Jesus healed a man who was born blind. The Pharisees, religious leaders, were angry because Jesus healed on the Sabbath. They were already conspiring to have Jesus killed.

The Pharisees had the man’s parents brought to them to ask if he was really born blind and how it was the man could see again. They confirmed he had been born blind, but said they did not know how he got his sight. We see why in John 9:
“His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, who already had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah would be put out of the synagogue.”
The Pharisees used fear to control people. They used fear to keep people down.
By contrast in John 9, Jesus sought out the man after the Pharisees kicked him out. So Jesus healed the man, and sought him out to speak with him after being kicked out. Jesus revealed to man that who he Jesus is. By doing so, Jesus showed love.

Out of love, Jesus seeks us out. He pursues us. He wants relationship with us and to free us from hinderances in our lives.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
“18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
(1 John 4:18)
Fear of rejection, neglect, maybe loneliness keeps some people from following Jesus. I still know many people who are afraid of saying that Jesus saves because of this fear.May Jesus cast out the fear from the people who are afraid of accepting his love because of fear 🙏.
Great post brother. Blessings

It took me a while to understand that the salvation story of Jesus Christ is all about the love that God the Father has for us flawed people, a love that defies imagination, but which is steadfast and unfailing and so needed by our souls. Lovely post.
I totally agree with this comment. God’s love is so amazing and different, it never stops chasing after us.
Reminds me of this song “Reckless Love”. 😊
Thanks for sharing this, big bro.
Glad to little sister. How are you?

The scary thing is that many people believe this same thing today.
Yes, there is sin in this world. Yes, that sin has caused many of the horrors that we face today. But to presume that parental sin, or the sin of an unborn baby has caused a handicap….argh! Don’t get me wrong, when a baby is born addicted to crack, or has other health issues due to poor choices that the mother made, there is a direct correlation between the mother’s sin and the health issues of her infant. BUT there are far more instances of seemingly “normal” pregnancies that produce babies with disabilities. So, before you play the blame game, do a heart check. Are you projecting your own guilt & shame on an innocent child? Remember, God has a purpose for EVERY life; no matter how long or short it is. [End rant]
He does have purpose for every life
Perfect love drives out fear.❤️🙏so thankful He’s the reason we can overcome.
Me too ❤️
Amen
