Thankful for an Injection?

One thing I am thankful for is having an injection in my knee yesterday. That may sound a bit crazy but my hope is it delays surgery. I will have two more injections one each of the following Tuesdays. They even gave me an early Christmas present too. I now have a brace to wear.…

One thing I am thankful for is having an injection in my knee yesterday. That may sound a bit crazy but my hope is it delays surgery. I will have two more injections one each of the following Tuesdays.

They even gave me an early Christmas present too. I now have a brace to wear. Not one of those cheap ones a person buys at Walmart. This one is a serious brace. But it was not wrapped with a bow on it. 🙂

I had the opportunity to tell some jokes to the women working the front desk, the P.A. who gave me the injection, and the young woman who fitted me with the brace. As they read this, bloggers who join me for blogger chat on Saturdays might be rolling their eyes. They have been blessed with my jokes every Saturday morning. 🙂

All in all it has not been too bad of a year when it comes to doctors. I only saw two specialists and of course appointments with my GP. Any spoonie will tell you that a year almost free of seeing specialists is a good year.

So today I am thankful for injections in my knee. What are you thankful for?

    I am thankful that, though my wife tested positive for COVID on Monday, her symptoms are not severe. Also, thanks to adequate pre-planning and $ provided by God, the house is stocked with plenty of food and medicine and toilet paper! Blessings. I enjoy your blog.

    I’m thankful I haven’t yet had to get an injection in my knee. But alas, that will likely happen in 2021.

    I’m waiting to get into the specialist for my knee because it’s narrowed, missing cartilage and I have arthritis. I’m finding it really hard at school so much pain in my knee. I’m too young to have surgery so like you I will get shots and a proper knee brace.
    It takes up to 3 months to get into the specialist. For now it’s lots of Tylenol and Advil. I’m so happy you got your shot.

    I’m thankful for having an awesome job where I get to help children everyday. I’m also Thankful for being able to blog and share our stories with others. ❤️

    I’m grateful for coconut water that helps my knees feel better. I’m grateful the car battery died before I left to go shopping, so I didn’t have frozen food in the trunk. I’m grateful for all the amazing things God provides, every day.

        To be honest, I don’t know how it works. I only know that I’m able to go up and down stairs and two-mile walks without any knee pain. At the beginning of the lockdowns, I was reduced my coconut water to a 1/2 cup a day, trying to save, but the pain made walking a real struggle. I kicked it back up to 1 cup a day and I have hardly any pain at all. I tried coconut water because my sister had noticed a significant difference in her knee pain.

    Wow, I’m jealous! I never got a knee brace from my orthopedist. All I got was x-rays (the tech was mean) and cortizone shots.
