For years I have extolled the virtues of using the popcorn setting on a microwave. It is such a convenient and easy way to use the microwave. I just press popcorn and then start and it cooks for 2 1/2 minutes. If more time is needed, I just repeat the process.

Yesterday I noticed another setting on the microwave I bought about 3 years ago. It said- Baked Potato. I thought perhaps that could be a good one to use thinking that it takes longer to cook a baked potato.
But alas when I pressed baked potato, I realized that I would need to somehow enter the time to cook. That severely complicates things.
So I will continue to only use the popcorn setting for my microwave and extoll the virtues of doing so. It really is the easiest way to go.
P.S. the microwave in the picture in this post is not my microwave. Best not to scare my readers with a picture from my kitchen π
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
Baked potatoes will cook in 8 minutes in most microwaves.
Thanks. I didnβt know this. Iβm sure my wife does, but what if I want to microwave my own baked π₯ ?
ππ
I am not planning to bake a potato. I was curious about the setting lol
But I’m curious to see your baked potatoes….so pls pls pls try out this function brother Matt…..
Especially after your stove top chicken episode, I cant wait for this oneππ€π ππ
I’m just messing with you bro Matt…ππΌππΌππΌπππΌππΌππΌ
The title of your post had me intrigued. π I too frequently use the microwave or even the toaster oven. I look forward to reading future adventures with your microwave!
Thank you little sister. Microwaves and toaster ovens are great π
I use microwave to bake potatoes and cook rice.
I love using a microwave π

This was an entertaining read! What good is a baked potato setting if you need to enter the cook time yourself?! Thereβs a popcorn setting on my microwave too, but Iβm hesitant to use it. It says, βWait and listen until the popping slowsβ right on the bag, so the rule follower in me always does. I plan to be BOLDER in 2021. I shall push the popcorn πΏ button and walk away.π
I use the popcorn setting for everything
Now THAT is bravery, sir! Itβs like playing golf with just a 9 iron!
lol
Our microwave that we bought almost three years ago also has a baked potato setting. Here’s how it works: wash potato, poke a couple of holes in it with a fork, put the potato on a microwaveable plate, put it in microwave, close the door, then push the baked potato button.
Last step: push the number 1 if you are only baking one potato. If you are baking two potatoes, push the number 2. If three potatoes, push number 3. You do NOT have to enter the time it will take to cook, just the number for how many potatoes you have in the microwave. π
By the way, it only took me about 2 years to figure that out π
Lol
Still seems beyond my cooking skills lol
Potatoes are very easy to do in the microwave. Here’s how:
For a medium size potato, wash potato. Place potato on a plate. With a fork, poke a hole in potato.
Using microwave setting as is, I use 3 to 4 minutes. Depending on the wattage of your microwave, you make have to cook it longer.
My microwave is 1000 wattage.
Experiment! Trial and error is a good thing.ππ£
Thank you little sister
You are quite welcome! Let me know they turn out!ππ£
π
Have you tried sugar popcorn? It taste pretty good.
Sounds good
Oh my goodness…. that sounds like an addiction waiting to happen!
Lol! It is π.

Haha. I would love to see a picture of your kitchen though. π
You can give the discovered option a try sometime. Start with a lesser time though. π
Haha I think on the bake potato settings they just want you to enter how many potatoes you are cooking but not the timeπyou ought to check again!!πβ€οΈ
No potatoes lol
