Going into Christmas, I knew it would not be a normal one for me at all. Normally I visit refugee/immigrant families and surprise them with candy and spend time drinking tea or coffee with them.

But due to COVID, that was not possible this year. Christmas Eve Service, which is my favorite part of Christmas, was only online for me. Instead of sulking about things, Jesus led me to bless a single mom and her two little girls.
I actually went Christmas shopping on December 23rd. That was way out of my comfort zone but so worth it. But what to buy two little girls aged 6 and 3?
I found two big Minnie Mouse dolls one for each. Then I found some stickers in a box that little girls would like. Next were princess coloring books and of course two boxes of crayons. I gave the gifts to my student from Guatemala and told her to tell her little girls the gifts are from her and not to say they are from me.

My student is a single mom who lost one job earlier this year due to COVID and found another job. The father is in Guatemala and has nothing to do with the girls. My student works, takes care of her little girls, and studies English to try to make a better future for her and her daughters.
She sent me three pictures of her little girls playing with the gifts. They had big smiles on their faces. Seeing the little girls with the gifts smiling was the best Christmas gift for me this year.
What was meaningful for you during Christmas?
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
Aww. I can imagine the smile on their faces. That was really nice of you to do. 😊
Mine was having to be at a new place and it was filled with love and acceptance. Meant a lot to me.
Glad you like your new place little sister
This advent I concentrated on digging into the characters in the Christmas story. I gained such a rich appreciation for the details.
👍
Wow that’s so beautiful what a gift you have this mom. I love your heart and soul for others. ❤️
Thank you
Ahhh so very sweet! What a beautiful gesture!! A good example of being the hands and feet of Jesus!!
Their smiles were great to see
Ya I bet so!!
Christ was born! And the beautiful Study Bible and Blessings Tea Set I received. I am getting closer to God and to my Bible Study Group which means a lot!
🤗
What a beautiful gift! That’s so sweet she sent you pictures so you could see their smiles. We gave the “12 Days of Christmas” to a family in need this year. It was fun to see my daughter excited about giving, and not just receiving.
Wonderful memory for your daughter
You had the BEST Christmas gift, the gift of giving. What a blessing you were to that little family, and how blessed you were to have that kind of joy.
It was a blessing 🙂
That was so sweet of you Matt. That is what Christmas is all about. 🙂
Thank you little sister 🙂
