Hunker down means to stay in a place while something passes like bad weather. This weekend will be a time for me to hunker down. The temperatures will be below zero most of the weekend, so this morning after my class, I will head to the store to buy food for the weekend. It will be time to hunker down.

I have some big plans like spend time with Jesus, take a few naps, read a book, watch some movies, blogger chat Saturday morning and watch worship service online Sunday morning.
I don’t know about you but I find that cloudy days are great to taking naps. It will be cloudy most the 3 day weekend, so naps will definitely occur. 🙂
I think my friend Vanessa of braveblessedandbeautiful.com should visit here with her family this weekend. The poor girl lives in Florida where it is never cold. She needs to experience the blessing of below zero weather. 🙂 lol
What are your weekend plans?
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
It’s back to traditional school today, after two virtual days due to cold and ice. It’s still really cold (for here). The feels like temp is 1. Our plan is to survive today, buy groceries tomorrow and then hunker down for the weekend. Hopefully, church will be online only on Sunday— if it snows like they say it will. Stay safe and warm, Matt!
We will have -20 overnight Monday
Stay inside with hot chocolate and movies for me
sounds good 🙂
Fun times!! Enjoy your naps 👏🏻 I’m looking forward to reading and bible reading more while I’m snowed and iced in. Thanks for sharing.
reading and bible reading sound great 🙂
Matt, your plans look ready to go. Here in central Ohio, our “hunkering down” will arrive Monday. I can’t complain as I am home quite a bit anyway, but my family back in Montana has been bearing the brunt of the Polar Vortex. Wind chills have been well past -20 F.
We have been below zero a lot and overnight Monday will be -20
It will be raining here all weekend. Stay warm!
You should visit my city 🙂 lol
Over here, we are experiencing about 90F, with 95% humidity, and not even a slight breeze to break the ‘difficult to breath air’.
It’s so strange for me to read of, and hear of, the opposite extreme in the US and the UK.
And of course, I am over here WISHING for snow days and colder weather (especially since I have yet to see and experience snow in real life, ha ha ha!)!
So I guess my weekend plans are to do as little as possible, wear as little clothing as possible but still be decent because I have kids in the house, and try to somehow find a way to ‘breathe easy and stay cool’ 😉
Do you have air conditioning to keep cool?
No. Around here, only the homes of the extremely wealthy have air conditioning!
I am definitely not in that category!
My plans? I’m playing it a bit by ear. I’m reading some blog posts. Will listen to some music. I’m crocheting something for my mom so will try to work on that a bit. Usually I get a bit of excercise and get some fresh air. I don’t nap though. Naps would be nice, but once I’m awake I’m usually not tired till bed time. I think my sleep is starting to improve a bit. I still wake up a bit but I get back to sleep faster…. mostly. Later Andrew and I will probably watch a movie. Okay, so maybe I’m not playing it by ear. Maybe I have most of it figured out. Enjoy your naps! ❤
Glad you sleep is improving 🙂
Sounds like a fun weekend for you 🙂
