We’re having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave. The lyrics to that old song are on my mind because in my city we are about to have a heat wave after a few weeks of frigid temperatures. For example, on Tuesday morning we woke up to -26 Farenheit, -32 Celsius.
Beginning this weekend we will be in the 30s, 1 or 2 Celsius, and then next week the heat wave comes. We will be in the 40s, 4 or 5 Celsius, all week. February in my city that counts as a heat wave. Time to get the beach gear ready, 🙂
So after a week of frigid weather that included one morning waking up to no electricity for an hour on Tuesday, an internet outage for a few hours Wednesday, and a dead car battery, I am ready for Friday or Fri-Yeah. 🙂
This morning only my hooded sweatshirt will be needed no winter coat. This evening will be Life Group from church in Zoom. The weekend is here and I might do something I have not done in months.
My city has gone increasingly down on the COVID risk dial. We are now in the mid yellow for moderate risk. The number of cases has dropped significantly. So I might hang out at a coffee shop for a while. The tables are still six feet apart and yes I will still wear a mask except for while drinking coffee, but I feel it is time.
I will bring a book I have been reading- A Gentle Answer. I will also bring my laptop of course. Some of my best writing has been done in coffee shops.

Thanks for checking in, Matt. My wife and I plan to venture out this weekend as well. We’ve only been out of the house once, between snow storm 1 and 2, for the past week. We only made it to -9 on Tuesday, but that’s colder than I’ve ever seen it around here. It’s so good to be flirting with barely freezing again! Blessings.

Awesome! One just has to love when winter finishes its final blowout and glimpses of spring creep in. Can shorts weather be close at hand? Maybe not yet. On Sunday after worship and watching the Buckeyes play basketball against the team up north (Michigan), I am heading to a nearby park with camera in hand. I need to shoot some winter pics before the snow begins to disappear.

Glad your city is having warmer weather and less Covid. Praise God! My Saturdays are consumed with school work and my sister and I have a prayer call in the evening, but tomorrow I will take time to rest. Enjoy. 🤗
