Yesterday morning during blogger chat, I asked each person what they were going to do. Hannah of hannahmvandi.com said one word- Rest. When she said rest, it was like a subliminal message to me. My response was to yawn. 🙂

Resting is beneficial for our health. As someone who lives with chronic illnesses, rest is so important While I do love taking naps, resting can also mean to relax whether it be reading a book, listening to music, watching a movie or a leisurely walk,
There is also spiritual and mental rest. That is the kind of rest Jesus offers to us in Matthew 11:28:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Jesus wants us to give our burdens in life to him. The things we are anxious about he wants us to give to him. 1st Peter 5:7 says:
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
The reason we can cast all we are anxious about on him is because he cares for us. Jesus loves us.
Today I will relax. Perhaps I will go to a coffee shop for a while after church. Being in a coffee shop is relaxing for me. This morning I will also give to Jesus, again, those things that trouble me.
Have a blessed Sunday and take time to rest.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
Matt, I agree, resting is beneficial for us.
The photo intrigued me.
This is the time when polar bears sometimes float down here on ice floes from the Arctic….⚘
How fun to see polar bears but please don’t tryptophan hug them 🤗
😄😄⚘
Awesome message for all of us to adhere to resting
Thank you
Good word for today, Matt. And it brings to mind this verse: “Come unto me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest!”
Let’s do that!
Wonderful verse
Rest… yes, to both kinds. 💕
Amen 🙏
without proper rest there is no way that we can do the work that God has set before us!
So true
Rest is always good.❤
Yes it is ❤️
I agree with finding ways to rest and relax. Being retired, I have a flexible schedule, but I try to keep it structured in the morning with exercise, reading, and writing. I try to squeeze in 6-7 hours of sleep each night.
Six hours is the most I can get usually
Surrendering all my cares, and resting in Him, for He doesn’t want me to ‘overload my donkey’ (an expression my Pastor uses occasionally). 😊 Have a blessed week Matt.
I like that-don’t overload my donkey lol
Grateful we can rest in Him and also have a sound sleep – bodily rest. 😊
Sleep 😴 🤗
Smiles. 🙋
I am glad He is always available to hear about what troubles us. He cares so much for us.
Jesus loves you little sister
What a wonderful thing to find sweet rest in Jesus.
Amen 🙏
Today I will relax.
Good
