Back In The Game

What a weekend!!! It is as if my life is starting again. Saturday morning my Saturday morning English conversation group started again after a 14 month break due to COVID. Four Hispanic friends came, two from Cuba and two from Mexico. We did an intercambio, exchange, mostly of me helping them with English, but they also helped me with Spanish.

Saturday afternoon I hosted a retirement party at my church for my colleague for my morning class. We managed to surprise her. We had students from my morning class, my colleague’s family, people who she worked with at other schools, and people from the school my morning meets. We had SO much good food and a lot of fun.

This morning the same four Hispanic friends came again for my Sunday morning group. We did an intercambio again and also listened to some worship songs in Spanish, It was also the first Sunday morning I enjoyed worship service in person.

This afternoon I will try to catch up on blogging. The past week was so busy with finishing up my morning class. But what a weekend it was.

How was your weekend?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. You always seem to be having fun, Matt. Learning should be fun, at least mostly.

Restrictions are being lifted even more where I live, as the number of COVID cases in my county is down to single digits.

Four more days of school for us.

  2. I can imagine it felt good getting back to life! Sounds like you had lots of fun! My weekend was spent mowing grass and enjoying the great outdoors. πŸ™‚

  3. Ole’! Buenos Dias mi hermano Matt.
I’m so glad you were able to gather back together with your students. There’s nothing like being around smiling faces and celebrating with one another after such a long period of time. Much catching up to do I’m sure. Chop chop…πŸ˜πŸ–’

  4. Love the hat and glad you having fun. It is so good to see people and be alive again. You never know you like something until it is taken away from.
Busy weekend, took vaccine and bible study, walked with a friend and also church in person on Sunday.
    Oh I had a nap too πŸ™‚
    Bless you

  5. I’m glad that things are going more back to normal for you. Here in the Netherlands, we’re still a long way from being able to do worship in person but hopefully it will happen here too soon. I’m happy you were able to catch up with so many friends and throw that surprise party. I’m sure that she appreciated it. πŸ™‚
