It is Friday or as I like to say-Fri-Yeah. I say that to other teachers at the school each Friday morning knowing they like the thought of it being Friday and the weekend is ahead. I say that knowing that it is the day I inject methotrexate and that by the end of school day there is only one place I was to be which is a special place called bed.

But this Friday I feel Fri-Yeah for various reasons. Yesterday my church delivered 90 individual Bundt Cakes from a special bakery which was a boost to the spirits of the staff. On my Facebook feed I saw two former students of mine graduate from the Community College I have taught at for 21 years. Top it all off with a party to look forward to tomorrow night for a young woman I helped prepare for university for her graduation. So even though Friday afternoon means bedtime, I actually feel Fri-Yeah.
I had no idea of a blog post last night. I normally write them the night before and schedule them to post the next morning. As I write, I am listening to worship music and this post came to mind. It reminds me of a line from a scene from the movie The Shack where a man had walked on water with Jesus by his side but when he started off the next time ahead of Jesus, he couldn’t. Then Jesus came alongside him and saying it works better if we do it together.
Together with Jesus makes any situation better. In the passage from Matthew 11 when Jesus invites all who are weary and heavy laden his invitation is to take his yoke.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls
Yoke is something that escapes our modern minds. A yoke was used to harness two oxen together to work as a team. Jesus invites us to join with him in life so that our lives are no longer a solo act. We join with him who though he has all power is gentle and humble of heart.
Together with Jesus means that today will be Fri-Yeah even though I inject medicine.
What are your weekend plans? Consider inviting Jesus to be with you.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
I like that special place called bed after a week of teaching too 🙂
It is a wonderful place 🙂
Amen! I am very thankful the Lord walks with us and helps us. I’m glad it’s Friday too. We started a tradition of going to the beach on Friday night for the sunset, but our daughter will be hanging out with friends for a secret Santa gift exchange tonight from 4-6. We’ll probably just hang out here & watch a movie after we pick her up. Maybe we’ll go out for dinner & get the kids ice cream too. Praying you get good refreshing rest this afternoon. So glad Christmas break is right around the corner. Blessings!
Sounds like a good weekend for you. Would you rather see dolphins or sharks at the beach?
I’ve seen both and I would definitely rather see dolphins, especially when we are swimming in the ocean. We actually had dolphins swimming very close to us when we were in the water one time. That was really cool. 🐬🌞🏝
Fri-yeah❤️
I’m subbing today and it is a loud, vibrant first grade bunch! So I will be looking forward to a relaxing evening at home ..but tomorrow it’s going to be wild and loud as we watch Paige’s wrestling meet!!
How was the wrestling meet?
Actually we didn’t end up going…Paige got there with her team Friday night and found out she didn’t have any girls in her weight class so it saved us from waking up at wee hours of the morning on Saturday, plus it saved stress as those meets are intense!!!! And then of course we saved on fuel, it’s over a three hour drive if we’d have gone!😅
The feeling is mutual 😅😅😅
love you
I’m on a 3 week break from school, so I will enjoy my first weekend out relaxing. 🤗
Enjoy little sister
One way to enjoy is to swim with sharks lol
😂
