Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. Who is weak, and I do not feel weak?
Paul wrote this in 2 Corinthians 11. I feel that I have a bit of what he was talking about. As I think about my Ukrainian friends in my city, my heart is heavy for them and their loved ones and friends in Ukraine. I think I will visit their church Sunday evening provided God allows me the energy to do so. The one in the picture is one in Ukraine not my friends’.

My thoughts are filled with memories of helping my friends when they first came to Lincoln 20 years ago. I feel it is important I show support by showing up to pray with them.
I will never forget having an English lesson at a coffee shop in April 2000 with a friend from Ukraine. While we were studying, a police officer was arresting someone outside the window. My friend’s eyes got big, so I turned around and saw what was happening. Our lesson then became one about warrants, legal process etc.
I will never forget arranging for a family with little money to have their daughter’s wedding at my church. I sat through the two hour wedding, all in Ukrainian, not knowing what was being said, but happy to help.
So many memories and now my friends are in anguish. My heart is heavy for them and for Ukraine.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
