My journey the past 33 years of following Jesus has been an adventure and one full of both adversity and blessings. There have been times that in prayer he has let me know something in response to me complaining such as the time when I was sick and dying and yelled at God, “there is no mercy” and his reply was, “then you show mercy.”

There have been many times he has led me to ministry which began with steps of faith not knowing where it was leading.
So this past Sunday morning the pastor read a passage from Matthew 11:
“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
He read it three times having us keep our eyes closed. Before the third time he told us to ask the Holy Spirit to let us know a word. I was all set for it to be to go somewhere like maybe Poland this summer to help refugees.
What came to my mind? One Word- Rest. Rest? Say What? No adventure. Just rest. Cue the letdown music.
Funny thing. I slept nine hours Sunday night. I slept nine hours Monday night. I never sleep that much.
Just goes to show one never knows what to anticipate from God. 🙂
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
True! I never believed I would actually wind up living in Las Vegas! I had always dreamed about it, though.
What do you do in Vegas?
Well, I like to Gamble once in a while and I love the lights, restaurants, and even the people. Some of the Homeless crack me up when they are all drugged up yelling at people in cars. I also give Homeless Bags to them. I am actually in Henderson which is about half hour away from Las Vegas.
Awe I love this Matt!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you little sister. How are you?
I’m good but waiting for warmer weather to arrive!😂😉
I think you will miss winter lol
No way!!!
❄️❄️❄️❄️😂😂😂😂
Come to me, and I will give you rest. You needed it.
Thank you. How are you?
I am experiencing a couple of health issues. I have a pinched nerve in my back, and because I have a defibrillator, I can’t have an MRI. So, I have to have CT Myelogram, which is painful, but I have trouble walking and getting out of a car or a chair, quite often. I have a Upper Gi Series on Thurday to determine why it feels like something is stuck in my throat. So, I haven’t felt like writing. Just hanging in and thankful this is Spring Break Week at the university, but I am preparing to preach on Sunday. So glas I don’t have to study for my classes. Long answer.
Prayed for you
He always knows best for us. Very often, that best will surprise us. 🙂
Yes he often surprises me 🙂
😂😂😂 rest my friend. Rest
I did and I will again this week-Spring Break 🙂
The Lord knows that you needed the rest. I am so glad that you were able to rest and refresh. Those two are a vital part of ministry.
I got more rest today too 🙂
Great. Have a restful night also.
Rest is very important, spiritual and physical rest. When we get proper rest, it makes a difference in many ways.
I like rest and have been getting a lot this week
