Friday evenings are usually the time I lay in bed because it is methotrexate day meaning I am wiped out. I made a change this week. I injected last night because this evening, I feel led to visit my Ukrainian friends at their church.
I read that the U.S. will receive 100.000 Ukrainian refugees and I am certain my city will receive many over the coming months. My city is a Targeted Refugee Resettlement City. We have refugees from all over the world. My city has three Ukrainian churches.

In anticipation of Ukrainian refugees coming to my city, I plan to reconnect with my Ukrainian friends to see how I can help. I helped many from Ukraine from 2000 to 2008. They were so hard working and did so well getting established that realizing other people groups needed me more, I did not keep up with them. It is time to change that.
I may not be able to go help in Ukraine, but I can help those who are coming here as refugees and I have friends from the three churches I can partner with. As I help refugees, one thing I always keep in mind is that during his earthly life, Jesus was a refugee. His earthly step father Joseph was warned in a dream to take Jesus and Mary and flee to Egypt because King Herod was sending his soldiers to kill Jesus. Those soldiers killed every male child two years old and under in Bethlehem.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
I have a Ukrainian student on my route. As I chat with his parents I always let them know that we are available to help with any needs that they or their extended family have.
I love my Ukrainian friends 🙂
My prayers are with all of them.
Thank you for praying for them
Always a pleasure to
Your point about Jesus being a refugee is spot on, Matt. I never thought about it like that, but he spent the first two years of his life away from home because of a dangerous situation. We must be willing to help those God sends our way.
God remembers when we help those he brings across our path.
Continued prayer for them and for you and your thoughtfulness to reach out to those in need. God bless you, big brother, Matt.
Thank you little sister. How are you?
I am well-rested after a week off. Lord willing heading to a ballet tonight to close out the weekend. I hope your day has been great thus far.

Thank you Patty. How are you?
I’m doing fine. I did start to have one of those episodes again but it passed. I hesitate to say this, but I’m beginning to wonder about the effects of having had COVID and the vaccine. But like my doctor said, we just don’t know. Thanks for asking.
You’re most welcome. 🙂
Yes Jesus and His parent were refugees. We cannot afford to forget that
When I think about that, I realize Jesus’s heart for refugees.
