Sunday is here and time to go worship with my fellow Christians at my home church. As I prepare to go, one thought is about why I am going. What is my purpose of going to church?
Yes, I will see my friends who come to practice English with me as I teach a class for one hour. Yes, I will see my friends as I mingle before worship service. Yes, I will benefit from the worship service as each week something is meaningful to me whether it be a song, part of the message from the pastor, or even something shared with me.
But I do not want lose sight of the core reason to go to church this morning. It is to spend time in the presence of Jesus together with fellow believers. It is a time to worship my Savior. The invitation is open to all who will respond to the call from the King of Kings, our creator, our Savior, to be in his presence.

An important reminder we need to consider. We can sometimes forget the main reason we need to gather together.
It is too easy to get distracted
I wanted to go to church but woke up coughing and congested so will go online when I feel better, and at least listen to a sermon.
