Ephesians 1- Because of Jesus, We Can Say-I Am A Child of God

When we base our affirmations on the Word of God, we are basing them on an eternally solid foundation as we looked at yesterday in- Truths to Tell Ourselves.

Paul began his list of spiritual blessings with:

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he  predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

God chose to love us. He chose to love us as his children and provided the way for us through Jesus. God chooses to love us not because of anything we have done. He choose to love us because he is love. Out of his great love he made it possible for us to be adopted into his family as John 1 says:

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

Jesus gives us the right to become children of God when we receive Jesus as our Savior. It is an eternally solid truth that no one can take away.

We can look in the mirror and say to ourselves. “I am a child of God” if we have received Jesus as our Savior. We are who God says we are as this song proclaims.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
