Yesterday morning was such a blessing in my morning group. Pastor Lucas Gomes and his family were visiting my church. They are from Brazil. Pastor Lucas and I both shared brief messages with our Hispanic friends in Spanish. His wife Lizi led us in singing some worship songs in both Spanish and Portuguese. One of our Hispanic friends Samuel from Honduras also led us in a song in Spanish.
As we sang one song, one of the women was crying. She is a single mom from Venezuela trying to make a life for her and her son here. All of our Hispanic friends felt blessed.
We started with a devotional based on John 1:1-3:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
The Word is one of many titles for Jesus. We focused on the fact that Jesus created everything, so he has the power to help us in our lives.
