When The Teacher Becomes The Student

Yesterday I met with my student/friend from Mexico to practice Spanish. We talked for over an hour mostly in Spanish. She patiently corrected my mistakes and helped me with pronunciation. This morning before I woke up, I realized it helped me.

I woke up in the middle of dreaming in Spanish. In the dream, I opened a college entrance test and saw the first ten questions were in Spanish, so I talked with the test proctor in Spanish. Then I woke up. I woke up happy because I dreamed in Spanish. πŸ™‚

In the dream, some Spanish speakers were happy and smiling when they heard me speak Spanish. It caused me to of think my students from other languages and my hobby of learning greetings in 30 languages. The reason I do so is because I want to connect with them and show respect. It opens doors of friendship for me.

It also gives me a new appreciation for the truth of Philippians 2:11

and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
Β Β Β Β to the glory of God the Father

One day the nations will be before Jesus acknowledging him as Lord. I guess the only question is what language I will be doing that in. Perhaps there will be one language such as Hebrew or perhaps we will all speak our own languages. It will be fascinating to find out. πŸ™‚

Thank you for reading. God Bless

  1. Well, Since God understands all languages, I believe it will be all different or maybe we won’t be using human language at all. Maybe we will talk through our thoughts.
