Today is the last day of summer on the calendar and tomorrow will be the first day of autumn. Yesterday we had 100f/38c and today we will be at 70f/21c. The rest of the week will be nice and cool in the mornings and perfect weather in the afternoons. Almost like clockwork, our weather is following the change of seasons, well at least for the next three days.
Fall is my favorite season of the year with the cooler temperatures, college football-America football, the leaves changing color later next month, and Thanksgiving Day. Fall brings the two changes I welcome with the temperature and the leaves.
Change is a constant in life and is unavoidable. Some changes are welcomed like getting an increase in pay, having a new baby, making a new friend. Some changes are not welcomed like a diagnosis from a doctor, the loss of a job, financial problems.
The greatest constant in life that I am so very grateful for is Jesus. He is the great I AM the eternally present Son of God. Hebrews 13:8 says:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Whatever changes come in life, positive or negative, we can look to Jesus, who never changes, to anchor us in this life. We can look to him in good times and bad times knowing he is always with us and at work in our lives.
Tomorrow I will celebrate the first day of fall by drinking a cup of coffee, black coffee, at the coffee shop. I will leave the pumpkin spice lattes to the sugar addicts. 🙂
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
I was just thinking about how reassuring it is that no matter the chalkenges or joys we face in life, God is there.
God is ALWAYS with us little sister
My favorite time of you, as I drove up the mountains where I live at look at nature it is as God took his paint brush to paint everything for my enjoyment
It was low 40’s here this morning Matt. 70’s yesterday. What a difference about 8 1/2 hours away can make. I celebrated with coffee as well. I’m buying pumpkin spice creamer for just a tisch of taste in my black coffee. I do love the greatest constant in our lives.
If I ever visit there, we will go to your coffee shop but only black coffee for ,me 🙂
I thank God for his faithfulness! He always has my back!
I am thankful too. He is faithful even when we are not
It got down to 47 here last night.
I recently sported a shirt that read “Fall in love with Jesus. He never leaves.”
love that message
It is reassuring to have God as a constant in our lives. Just as you experienced, our weather here left summer in the rear view mirror on the first day of autumn. Coffee seems to taste better with the cooler weather.
I love the cooler weather. The mornings here are crisp and fresh
I love Autumn too BUT on our side of the state it’s still feeling a bit summerish…🥵 hopefully some Fall weather will get a little time in before Jack Frost makes his way in!!!
Love these words from your post:
“Whatever changes come in life, positive or negative, we can look to Jesus, who never changes, to anchor us in this life. We can look to him in good times and bad times knowing he is always with us and at work in our lives.”
Thank you little sister. The weather here has been perfect for me with cool mornings and afternoons in the 70s.
Do you have a lot of firewood ready?
We need to go cut some firewood!!! 90 here today, then we slowly trickle to the 70s😄
We are in the low 80s here with cool mornings 🙂
