My Chronic Christmas

Thanksgiving has come and gone already. It feels like it zipped on past me quickly. It was nice to spend time with friends last night sharing friendship and delicious food. But it is over now. The rest of the world will be full speed ahead to Christmas, but I am not ready for it. I do not mean about shopping. That is a five minute thing for me on Amazon.

I wonder how many crazy people will wait outside in the cold to be the first ones in the stores for shopping. How many will be sane and do it all online like me. šŸ™‚

I feel like calling this year My Chronic Christmas as in chronic illness.. I have a follow up appointment with my GP next week to follow up on my recent hospital stay. I have a rheumatology appointment on Dec. 21st and a follow up appointment with the cardiologist on the 23rd. I also have a MRI sometime before the rheumatology appointment.

So that is four medical things before Christmas. UGH.

The one good thing about Christmas, the best thing, is that it is a reminder that Jesus left heaven to be born as a human baby, so he could be Immanuel-God With Us. I am grateful Jesus is with me at medical appointments.

Are you ready for the whole Christmas holiday thing?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Man, Matt! Your new “office” is becoming the doctor’s office. I’m just glad you feel well enough to return to your real corner office at the coffee shop. Frankly, Thanksgiving feels like Christmas ought to be. The season we’re headed into is so secularized most folks miss the point–Jesus leaving heaven to come to earth as a baby. However, that doesn’t change the fact that He did. And that means I’m going into the Christmas season with joy.

  2. Matt, glad you could meet with friends for Thanksgiving. By the stripes of Jesus you are healed. Speaking grace to you, as you go to all the medical appointments. Laughter is good medicine and I know you will make many laugh in the coffee shop. Blessings!

  3. You got me at Chronic Christmas…lol

God will be faithful to you Dad…TO THE END……He will never stop.

And yes I love Christmas šŸŽ„ season and I have been ready since last Christmas 😁. It’s a relaxing moment you know.

I already have my pajamas ready and my Christmas Day outfit. I am set.

  4. You have an optimistic attitude about your upcoming appointments, Matt!! Praying for good news over all of them and wisdom for the doctors!
My house is quite cozy and festive for the Christmas holiday but I’m blessed He is the reason for the season!!

  5. I am so ready for Christmas. All are bought through Amazon Prime. But, the greatest thing about Christmas is our Savior’s birth. My birthday falls on December 21st. I’ll be praying about your December medical appointments. I visit my podiatrist on Tuesday, have shots in my back on December 5th, and have some teeth work done on December 7th. And, after that, I think I’m good until January 2023. Our weekends are full of Christmas parties. Merry Christmas, Matt.šŸŽ„

  6. Praying for you Matt that your upcoming medical appointments bring you some peace of mind. As for me, I am soaking up as much as possible . . . the season of Advent’s hope, peace, joy, and love.
