Yesterday it was a blessing to have dinner with my friends Doug and Meribeth friends of mine from church. We have been meeting for dinner about every six weeks or so for a little over a year. Yesterday I shocked them.

Each time we have met for dinner, my food order has been the same, a Bison Burger with fries and a side of ranch dressing for the fries. Doug usually orders a burger too, but will change it up at times.
So when it came time to order, they were expecting me to order my usual, however, my order was not a Bison Burger and fries. The words salmon berry salad came out of my mouth. Doug’s eyes opened up big time as he expressed his shock saying, “what? no Bison Burger?”
Meribeth inquired as to the reason behind my dramatic change. My answer was quite simple. My desire is to have more ministry trips to other countries, so I need to lose weight and get in better shape.
Psalm 37:4 says:
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
I have often observed that if we delight ourselves in Jesus, the desires of our hearts will change. My new observation is by taking delight in the Lord, the desires of my stomach changed at least for last night.
My whole reason for traveling internationally is to share Jesus with people, but I need to get healthier for such endeavors hence the salmon berry salad last night.
There were no seismic repercussions because of my change. There were only the shocked look on my friends’ faces, so I think everyone is safe. 🙂
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
You go, brother! I’m rooting for you as you mix up your meals to carry HIS mission! Blessings!
Thank you little sister 🙂
I missed having the burger though lol
You’re welcome ☺️ Tee hee! I get it! Burgers are my weakness so I get it!
Burgers are so good
Right?! I have a memory~ my pup and I went to 3rd grade classes to present the writing process last year. I stopped and got us burgers. The next day, after hours and hours of pain and in the ER, I was diagnosed with cancer. I could y eat burgers for 4 months after YEARS of eating them. Isn’t it amazing how connected we are to food and its memories? God bless you, brother! I pray for you!
Oh my sorry for that memory
Oh never worry! It doesn’t bother me! I’ll never forget it. God’s timing is wheats on time~even after a burger!
lol even after a burger 🙂
