It is tree pollen time which means taking an allergy medicine for me. A funny side effect is the crazy dreams I have when taking the medicine. It’s not as if my imagination is not active enough already. π
Last night in my dream, I was working on some programs for refugee friends one of which was basketball outside on a court. Jordan, Bird, Magic Johnson, (all in their prime), were playing in an outdoor court. I talked with them and explained what I was doing. Jordan then asked if they needed shoes and suddenly some Air Jordans were there.
We talked with the teens about the shoes and I introduced Jordan as the GOAT, Greatest Of All Time, basketball player. One of the teens asked what about Lebron. We ended up having a discussion about the GOAT.

This causes me to think about the time the disciples were arguing about which of them would be the greatest in the kingdom in Luke 22:24
A dispute also arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest.
Jesus used it as a teaching moment to teach about humility in verses 25-27:
Jesus said to them, βThe kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.”
Of course they all knew Jesus is the greatest. They had seen his miracles. They had seen his power. Using himself as the example, he showed that serving is the path to be on. We are called to serve in love.
It would be interesting to see a discussion among Jordan, LeBron, Bird, Johnson, Bryant, etc about who is the greatest. They could talk about championships, records, MVP awards, and stats. Then Jesus could just say-“I defeated death.” Mic drop.
Jesus is the GOAT-Greatest Of All Time- and there is no comparison. He has no rival. He has no equal.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
Jesus is the G.O.A.T and He can’t be contested. Oh and I loved Kobe. I love Jordan too π
Amen Jesus has no rival
Christ’s actions speak for themselves. In humbleness, we each take a knee. Amen.
When Jesus returns in all of his glory…..
Amen!
We had one of the Huskers assistant coaches Ron Brown (director of player support and outreach) at our church on Sunday to give the message. Bold and encouraging! He is on fire for the Lord, it was good to witness his motivation. He knows the word well and it sounds like he really lives out his calling from the Lord daily, in real time.β€οΈ
That would have been a great worship service to be in π
Youβve heard of him? I watch Husker football sometimes but not enough to know the coaches or players even.
I was very thankful that he brought along the Huskers punter (Brian Buschini) and his wife, they gave the Sunday school kids their testimonies. Brianβs life is dramatically changed over the past 2 years because he has accepted Jesus as his savior, I was amazed at the work God is doing in his life and the amount of scripture he pours out (not for show) through his conversations, it was truly incredible.
Yes I have heard of him π
I have met him too.
Amen! Our Jesus is the Best!
He is indeed π
