My friend Luis from El Salvador gave me a perfect belated birthday gift Sunday morning. My birthday was a month ago, but what he ordered for me came last week. One gift showed two of my interests in life, coffee and other cultures.

Luis has been coming to my Sunday morning group for almost two years. We have had so much together. We have eaten pupusas together, a food from El Salvador, and also had lunch together at restaurants. He has been around me enough that he starts laughing in class before someone answers a question I ask because he knows it is a lead in to some humor.

We have also prayed together in my Sunday class. I pray in Spanish and Portuguese because my friends who come are from Brazil, El Salvador, Mexico, and Venezuela. Each Sunday I ask if my Spanish was okay and Luis says yes.

So the gift he gave me? A coffee travel mug.

It has a picture of me with a map of the world in the background and a picture of two hands one of the El Salvador flag and one of the American flag.

Friendship, coffee, cultures all in one gift. It is a big blessing. 🙂

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
