Yesterday afternoon I met with my friend Alexey from Ukraine and his wife, daughter and future son-in-law at the coffee shop. His friend Alex joined us as well to translate. It was a beautiful afternoon, so we sat outside in the patio area. We talked about a special worship service we will provide in a smaller city in my state for Ukrainian refugees living there, starting a Ukrainian church in my city, and the upcoming wedding for Alexey’s daughter.

While we were enjoying our fellowship over coffee, I mentioned how Jesus has blessed them in the past year and all of the changes. Alexey’s grandson was born last November here in my city. His children have acclimated to life here and their schools, Alexey’s new ministry here, and of course his daughter’s upcoming wedding.

Remembering such milestones in life such as one year since coming to America, gives us the opportunity to sit back and reflect on what Jesus has done and be grateful. It is good to celebrate such occasions so we can let gratitude fill our souls.

If I think about one year later in my life, there has been the provision through God’s people for me to get a vehicle, new friends, two books published, and meeting new students.

Could I encourage you to stop and think about one year later?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
