Tomorrow we will have Latino Festival in a park in my city. It is an annual event and something I always look forward to attending. It gives me an opportunity to see former students, friends, and meet new people. I went to my church office yesterday to prepare invitations to my weekend groups at my church to share.

After making the invitation, I emailed an attachment to my church office to print out a copy. Then came the new skill that perhaps I can add to my resume. I successfully used the paper cutter to finish the invitations. What was amazing is that I did not cut myself. Overall it was a smashing success. 🙂

There are actual new skills Jesus helped me develop over the years such as learning Spanish and Portuguese, teaching ESL, and relating with other cultures. Blogging and writing would be a few others.

Jesus equips us, empowers us, and helps us develop skills according to his purpose. Ephesians 2:10 says:

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

When Jesus calls us to do something, he already knows how he will equip and empower us for it.

What do you think? Should I revise my resume to add ability to use a paper cutter without cutting myself?

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  9. Hello, Brother! I’m so glad to “see” you. WordPress is being tricky for me. Depending on my device (P.C., iPad, iPhone, etc..). I’m writing this although I should already be “logged in”. It’s confusing. Yes, new skills! You’re a smashing success, Matt! No cut fingers! Jesus DOES equip us. I’ve called out to him even in this situation. If you don’t get this response, please know your little sister is here praying for you always!
