Never lie to an X-ray technician because they can see right through you.

An old joke I shared with the young woman who did the CT Scan on my right knee yesterday. Sometime early next year, I will have knee replacement done on it. She asked me if I was glad to get it done. I told her that while it will be nice to be able to walk better and such, I do not look forward to being stuck at home for a few weeks with nothing to do and nowhere to go except physical therapy.

When I think about prayer, I also think about how Jesus can see right through us. As Jesus said of the Father in Matthew 6:8

“Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”

God sees everything. That can be comforting when I think about the fact that he knows my needs before I ask. It could also be frightening if I think about my mistakes or sins. But then we have Jesus as our advocate saying we belong to him.

There is no reason to try to hide things from God. We can’t anyway. But we can come into his presence as we are and receive grace and mercy in our time of need.

I may have told the young woman a few other jokes before I left. All in all, it was not a bad experience.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

How are you? How are you antelope friends?

      1. I’m good! Subbing a bit! No antelope friends but goats, YES! They’re good as well and two mamas will have babies in January!!!

      2. Is Paige excited about the goats?

      3. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

  2. It is comforting that God knows what we need before we ask and also the Jesus is our advocate

    1. Amen. I am so grateful Jesus is our advocate

  3. I like the joke! 😂 and the reminder to bring all openly and honestly to God. Sending prayers for your upcoming procedure. I don’t blame you for not looking forward to it. Hopefully God will bring blessings in the midst of the trail 🙏

    1. Thank you little sister. How are you doing?

      1. I’m doing well. I’ve been leaning on the Lord a lot lately. That helps! ♥️

  4. We can’t hide from God…nor should we desire such.

If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead), behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning or dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there shall Your hand lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me (Ps 139:8)

    1. God is with us everywhere 🙂

  5. Good point. The God who knows us best loves us most. That encourages me. I am praying when you recover from the knee replacement, that you will use the time to draw closer to God in prayer and Bible study. It’s wonderful to rest in God’s presence. Time flies! You’ll be on your feet before you know it.

    1. That you my friend. The surgery will be next year
