The coffee shop I go to occasionally has a homeless person come in who is drunk. Yesterday a man came in who was either drunk or high on something. He didn’t buy anything only getting a cup of water. He sat down at a table close to two teen girls who seemed to be about 14 or 15.
Taking note of the situation I kept a watchful eye in case the man approached the girls. I watched over the girls for about twenty minutes in case they were approached by him. I would have stepped in, Fortunately, the manager came in and told the man to leave. He left.
The situation made me think about how Jesus watches over us. His eyes are always on us. There is nowhere we go that Jesus is not with us. His presence in our lives is always constant.
Psalm 121 states five times that God watches over us such as in verse 8:
the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
It is so comforting to know that God constantly watches over us.
