Yesterday was such a blessing. There was a wedding at New Breath church. As I sat watching the ceremony, I thought about what must be going through the young bride’s mind. It was only three weeks ago that she was in Ukraine in the war zone. Her fiancé had come here a few months ago to join his parents and younger siblings who have been here for a few years.

The young bride’s parents joined via phone while Pastor Alekseyi held the phone to the microphone for her parents to pray for the young couple and say a blessing. After the ceremony, everyone took turns walking up to the bride and groom to wish them well and give them a blessing.

But back to what must have been in the bride’s mind. Three weeks ago, she was living in the war zone. Three weeks ago, she lived with that constant fear. Three weeks ago, she probably wondered at times if she would live to see the day she could join her beloved in America and get married.

Now she is married. She is united with the young man she loves. She is living far away from the war.

It makes me think about the time when Jesus will return for those who believe in him. He will come back to take us away from this world dull of problems, sickness, war etc, to join him in heaven. What a wonderful day that will be.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.
