Yesterday I had a meeting at a place about six blocks from the college where I teach. After the meeting, I decided to walk to the college. Six blocks may not sound like much of a walk, but after two knee surgeries on the same knee in the past six months and several weeks of physical therapy, it was nice to be able to walk those six blocks.

I must confess I made a stop along the way. There is a small Mexican restaurant two blocks from my college and it was way past lunch time. Your fellow blogger was hungry, so inside I went to enjoy some lunch.
I made it to the college, did some work for my classes, and then taught my evening class.
Two of Jesus’s disciples had a meal with someone they met on the Emmaus road while walking. It was after Jesus had been crucified and unknown to the two men, shortly after Jesus’s resurrection. Jesus joined them while they were walking and prevented the two men from recognizing him. He listened as they told him about the crucifixion.
They asked Jesus to join them for a meal and then he revealed himself to them in Luke 24:30-32.
When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
That would have been quite the surprise. Amazing things happened walking with Jesus when he was on earth. I am thankful he walks with us in spirit in our lives, but still wonder what it would have been like to walk with him like the disciples did.
No walking for me today, but perhaps tomorrow I will go for a walk between my classes.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
