The depths of Jesus’s sacrifice hit home last night as I was sharing my presentation about Jesus Understands Trauma. One aspect I shared, I woke up with stayed with me this morning.

Jesus often in John’s Gospel would speak of his hour as in his time to suffer torture and crucifixion on our behalf. Jesus knew all along what the plan was. He had constant reminders while ministering to people.

The Romans would crucify people and leave them on the cross for days as a way to suppress and intimidate people. So as Jesus walked from place to place a common sight would be people on crosses dying or already dead.

Thanking him does not seem enough. Sharing Jesus with those who do not know him seems to mean more because it puts my thankfulness into action. How I live my life would seem to mean more too, but then I tend to still mess up.

The depths of Jesus’s love to endure all he endured is difficult to comprehend. We can accept his love and thankfully have all eternity to appreciate it and learn more for it to sink in more.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. I pray that we will all surrender our lives to Christ to show our appreciation to Him. Thanks for sharing

    1. Surrender is not easy but so worthwhile

  2. Blessings Matt for reminding us that Jesus endured the wrath of a sinful world at Calvary. Without the Resurrection, the depth of our own sinful journey would end in darkness.

    1. I shudder to think of ending in darkness. I am so grateful for Jesus
