When I was younger, there were some sports I was good at like American football, swimming, baseball, and basketball. There were two that eluded me perhaps due to the need for finesse in playing them, golf and tennis.

I tried tennis a few times but kept hitting the ball over the fence, so out of frustration, I stopped trying. Golf? I accidently hit my older brother while I was swinging a golf club so he never took me to play golf again. You can count on one hand the number of time I have played golf in my life.

So when the doctor told me yesterday that I had tennis/golf elbow, you can imagine my surprise.

Oh it’s the cane causing it? I did not want to hear that. Guess there is no name for cane elbow.

I wonder if Moses ever developed staff elbow from God performing all of those miracles through Moses’s staff? I mean dipping one’s staff in the Red Sea and it parting the sea, would that cause staff elbow? Of course not. God was working through Moses so no injury.

Maybe I need to try dipping my cane in some water to see if a miracle happens and my elbow gets healed up. Yes, I am joking. So I guess I will try those home stretching exercises they gave me to try.

Hope you enjoyed my attempt at a humorous story time.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. Brother, I’m giggling…but not at your pain! My family and I have the case of…funny bone. Humor helps! I’m so sorry for the pain.
Matt, last August when my elbow and hands began hurting, I couldn’t “pin point” why? I know I have carpal tunnel and that typing too much hurts. Years of softball, the wreck,…and bad golf playing might have contributed to mine! Oh my!
You have a wonderful attitude and faith, brother! Prayers and support for you always, 🙏🏻🥰
Do you think my elbow might hurt because of my repetitive coffee mug lifting?

    1. Coffee mug lifting could never cause injury haha

  2. Hope your elbow gets healed up pretty soon and you are free if this discomfort and pain. . And I did enjoy your humorous take on all this.

    1. Thank you Manu. How is life down under?

  3. Humor is always good. A smile relaxes the body and mind.

  4. Awe love this story! Hopefully you get to ditch the cane soon but what a blessing to have in the meantime…reminds me that no matter how we are doing physically we should always be using Jesus as a crutch!!

    1. Jesus our crutch, our wheelchair, our every kind of support in life 🙂

      1. Amen to that!!❤️

  5. Matt, this lighter moment is well-taken. I appreciate Karla’s reflection about possible “coffee” elbow. Hmm, perhaps I better slow down my nearly endless repetitions of coffee drinking.

    1. I think that there could be no danger from the repetitions of coffee drinking lol
