It was October 1989 when a church in my city showed the Billy Graham Ministry’s film Caught. I went to watch the film. In the end of the film, they show Billy Graham speaking to the World Conference on Evangelism that was in Amsterdam that year. They show Billy Graham say, “and do the work of an evangelist.”

At that moment it felt like spiritually my soul was pierced. That night when I came home, upon entering my place, I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit hit me. I fell to the floor and felt the impression that everywhere I go, God would bring wounded people into my life for me to show them Christ’s love and share Jesus with them.

That was the beginning of it all for me. The journey has not been easy and the road long at times, but it has culminated in Jesus blessing me with opportunities to share him with people from all over the world.

I am grateful Jesus did not show me the whole picture back in 1989. I probably would have not wanted to take the first steps. But step by step, Jesus has led me and now my mind is full of memories of people Jesus has brought across my path in lfe.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

  1. So glad you answered God’s call on your life, Matt. When you follow Holy Spirit, you change and as a consequence, many others’ lives are transformed. Thank you for sharing your journey, saying yes, and not quitting! Overflowing blessings to you!

    1. Following God’s call is not easy but so worth it

  2. I know what you mean about its being a good thing you didn’t know what was ahead when you answered the call. A lot of God’s plans are like that – the task seems overwhelming, but as we trust Him, He takes us there, one step at a time. And with Him, it’s doable.

    1. One step at a time it best for us 🙂
