Yesterday at New Breath Church, my friend Pastor Alekseyi shared with me that his house in Ukraine had been destroyed and all of the people in his city have evacuated. His pain was obvious.

In such moments, all I can do is listen and pray for them. There are no magic words to speak to make it all better. All I can do is listen, offer to pray with them, and try to point them to Jesus.

Psalm 68:19 says-
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens

God wants to bear our burdens. He wants us to come to him and share them with him. In fact, we are invited to do so. Jesus said so in Matthew 11:28

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest

God also wants us to bear one another’s burdens. He wants us to be a part of bearing burdens and helping. Galatians 6:2 says

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ

Sometimes the only thing to do is to listen and pray like yesterday with my friend Alekseyi.

Thank you for reading. God Bless.

So heartbreaking. Sometimes love looks like listening and praying. May God comfort Pastor Alekseyi and all who are hurting, and may Christ carry the weight none of us can. 🙏🤍

  2. Heartbreaking events disrupt too many lives in Ukraine. Praying for God’s spirit to bring healing and comfort. Indeed, listening and praying need to be our response.

  3. It can be tough hearing news like this, but thankfully God bears our burdens. thanks for sharng.
