Last day of January already and it is another freezing cold day here today. It feels like we are on repeat mode, but a “heat wave” is coming next week with temps all the way up to 50 farenheit. I am thankful for a warm place and a cup of coffee in my hand. Fortunately there is no need to venture outside until tomorrow when it will be warmer.

I have been reflecting on the similarities between Psalm 1 says about a tree and what Jesus spoke about in John 15 about the vine and branches.
Psalm 1:3 says this about those who delight in the law of the Lord-
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.
Planted shows intentionality not happenstance. God intentionally works in our lives, so we grow and bear fruit.
In John 15:5 Jesus spoke about him being the vine and us being the branches.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
We need our relationship with Jesus to thrive in him and bear fruit.
It is because of Jesus, my relationship with Jesus, that he blesses me with opportunities to share him with people from different nations. It is because of Jesus that I became an ESL teacher. It is because of Jesus that I am writing this blog post.
Yes, even my blog is because of Jesus. Years ago, one of the pastors at my church suggested that I blog and showed me how to use WordPress.
2nd cup of coffee is calling.
Thank you for reading. God Bless.
